“Discover the best pintxos Basque tapas bars in town on a dinner crawl with San Sebastian Food, our idea of heaven.” -ELLE magazine
** One of our most popular experiences, ranked in the Top 10 Food Tours in the world by Trip Advisor **
Pintxos (Basque tapas) line every bar in San Sebastian’s famed Old Town, but knowing where to find the best ones is an art. While it’s hard to have a bad meal in town, knowing exactly where to go for the best, freshest, and most exciting pintxos takes local, insider knowledge. Do a night out in San Sebastian like a local, led by our friendly and knowledgeable Basque guides.
We dive straight into the culinary heart of the city for a night of eating and drinking unlike any you’ve ever experienced. From fresh prawns to line-caught baby squid to perfectly charred steak, the pintxo hunt changes nightly but always features a range of traditional spots and chic, avant-garde bars. Come thirsty, too, as we’ll be pairing each pintxo with the perfect pour, from cider to local whites and reds.
Our pintxo tasting tour comes highly recommended by the world’s authorities on travel: Conde Nast Traveller, Easy Jet, Vogue, Financial Times and many others. Stylist Magazine says "There’s no better overview of the city’s food scene".
"The lovely Lourdes was invaluable in helping us to navigate the streets of old San Sebastián and the masses of delicious Pintxos on offer. Without her we'd have just chosen bars at random and pointed to what we could see on the counter, not realising that often the "specials" aren't on display. We ate and drank really well, learnt a lot about the food, wine and history of the area and came away with lots of ideas of what to do the next day. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and really good value too!"

"A perfect introduction to the confusingly delicious world of pintxo bars. Our tour, lead by Arantxa, included 6 pintxo bars each with its own specialty. After the tour, Arantxa emailed us the list of drinks and pintxos we had plus further bars to visit and new pintxos to try. A bonus to this guided tour is that you don't have to fight your way to the bar in order to place your orders."

"Tour was a terrific mix of history, camaraderie, and most importantly, food and drink. We had a great guide, Inigo, who took us to 6 different pintxos bars in the Old Town. He showed us the ropes of how these bars work; ordered everything and brought it to us (in some cases outside, for the busier bars); and threw in bits of historical nuggets along the way (like why August 31 is so special) . Highly recommended" Visited July 2015

This tour is a great way to spend an evening in San Sebastian. Our guide Arantxa was fun and interesting, spoke fantastic english and took us to some amazing pintxos bars. The bars themselves are busy, loud and with so many pintxos on offer it can be difficult to know what to go for. If we'd been on our own i'm certain we wouldn't have found such good bars and would have eaten less well. The pintxos followed a logical order (fish, meat, dessert) and were matched well with regional wines, no-one left hungry and i'm sure there were a few sore heads in the morning. With Arantxa at the bar ordering it also gave us time to get to know the rest of the group who added to the fun of the night. In fact if (when) we come back we'll book the tour again as it really enhances the pintxos experience.
